Feature Details:

Keep Your System Safe and Up-to-date

Incorporate health alarms from intrusion panels

In addition to displaying standard access control and intrusion alarms (e.g. zone bypassed, panel armed, etc.), exacqVision now captures panels and controller health alarms such as low battery, power loss, and keypad tampering. These events can trigger actions within exacqVision and roll-up to ESM or exacqCloud health monitoring solutions to identify issues before they affect an organization’s security infrastructure.

Automatically checks for server updates

exacqVision now checks for automatic server-side updates, expanding upon its existing ability for client-side updates. Once users opt into this feature, exacqVision will automatically notify them when client or server updates are available for download, ensuring their system is always kept up-to-date.

Faster Identification and Mitigation of Events

Integration with Illustra video analytics provides critical event notification

Users of analytics-enabled Illustra Pro cameras can now see visible boxes around analytic event triggers and search on specific metadata associated with analytic events. Visible bounding boxes make the triggering event easy to identify and are visible in both the Live and Search pages of the exacqVision client.  When searching analytic events, the user can now further review analytic event results by drawing specific areas of the scene to filter results.  These analytic enhancements allow for faster identification of triggering events and faster searching of past events generated from Illustra Pro cameras.

Illustra Analytics

Integration with Axis Perimeter Defender and Video Motion Detection

exacqVision now integrates with Axis Perimeter Defender which allows users to monitor large areas based on object behavior such as loitering and conditional zone crossing (e.g. when an object enters one zone without first passing through another zone). The integration can trigger actions within the exacqVision VMS, such as video recording or sending email notifications when a perimeter event occurs.

In addition, exacqVision now supports Video Motion Detection 4 (VMD4) on Axis cameras, which sends alerts when motion is detected.   This new camera support is set to record based on movement, reducing storage and bandwidth usage.

Better Administrator Control

Greater control over user group ‘live’ and ‘search’ privileges

User Group Settings

Admin users can now define ‘live’ and ‘search’ user group privileges individually per camera for greater control. They can grant a user live access to a specific camera, but restrict the same user from searching recorded video.  This capability ensures that surveillance video is only viewed by appropriate exacqVision users.

Assign users to multiple groups, each with different privileges in Enterprise System Manager (ESM)

In the latest version of ESM (5.4), users can be assigned to multiple groups, each with different privileges. This improvement addresses the requirements of large organizations, who often need to assign users to multiple groups of separate servers.

Simplified Camera Configuration

Improvements to input and output configuration menus

The user experience of configuring audio, trigger, and alarm inputs and outputs has been improved with the release of exacqVision 9.0. In previous versions, these inputs and outputs were grouped together in the client and gave users little information regarding the devices each was associated with. Now, not only is this information provided in a grid format for better organization, but it also includes helpful device information like camera name, model, and MAC address.  A critical time-saving enhancement to exacqVision.

Audio Options

Web and Mobile Improvements

Time-saving backup/restore settings for Exacq Mobile
It has always been easy to add servers to an Exacq Mobile configuration, but this process can become time-consuming when dozens or hundreds of servers need to be added to many mobile devices. With Exacq Mobile 9.0, you can create a backup of a mobile configuration, save it to a cloud destination, and restore it on any number of mobile devices, greatly reducing the time required to configure the app on mobile devices.

Improved user experience with camera associations on mobile device

exacqVision 9.0 improves the way users access different camera associations on a mobile device. A new overflow menu prevents too many associations from taking up the entire screen, and a new wheel menu allows users to more intuitively interact with associations.

Mobile Image

More secure, redesigned exacqVision web service

exacqVision web services no longer installs a 3rd party webserver and now uses an embedded webserver within the exacqVision web service.  The new web service is more secure and will automatically get updated every quarter as part of the remote update, whereas Apache was not automatically updated when you updated the web service.  This makes managing system updates easier for administrators and helps to ensure the latest version of software is running on your exacqVision web servers.

Additional 3rd Party Camera Options
  • Iris and focus control in exacqVision for Axis, Hikvision, Illustra, and ONVIF IP cameras
  • ACTi event notification with separate socket connection
  • Bosch and Northern added to plugin dropdown menu
  • Edge camera support for Artpec-6 cameras
  • Support for Kantech v7.3 with Windows 10
  • H.265 support for Panasonic
  • Support HTTPS configuration for ACTi
  • Added client-side dewarping for HIKVISION and Panasonic

School Campus Enhances Perimeter Security with Complete Tyco Security Products Solution

 About Queen Elizabeth Grammar School

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Wakefield Girls High School educate students in West and South Yorkshire, England. The large campus includes about 4 buildings of varying sizes some dating back to the 16th century. A 19-person governing body and 500-person teaching and support staff work to better the education for 2,100 pupils yearly.

The Challenge

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Wakefield Girls’ High School, located in Yorkshire, England, wanted a completely unified security system to secure the perimeter of the campus, while minimizing investigation time and improving security operations. Additionally, they wanted cameras that produced clear images to identify people as well as a management system that was easy to use.

Wakefield Grammar School

The Solution

After a complete site survey and evaluation, the school selected Reflex Systems of South Yorkshire, England as their integrator.

Queen Elizabeth Grammar and Wakefield School increased its security across its five-school campus with a complete Tyco Security Products solution including:

exacqVision Kantech Onboard

“They had done quite a bit of research on everything. Once they came to us, we decided that going with the Kantech embedded software was the best decision from a future-proofing point of view,” explained Steven Ward, technical director, Reflex Systems.

BenefitsIP Camera

Improved Camera Performance

With camera performance and image quality being the two most important factors for the school, the new Illustra Pro cameras give them the opportunity to cover all entry and exit points on campus and see critical details in areas with no sunlight. The strong integration between exacqVision VMS software and Illustra cameras simplified the deployment and optimized the performance. exacqVision automatically discovers cameras and addresses in exacqVision with EasyConnect.

exacqVision EasyConnect

Reduced Hardware Expenses

exacqVision recorders with Kantech Onboard reduce the hardware expenses and amount of rack space needed with the access control system pre-loaded on the network video recorder. The recorder came pre-loaded and pre-licensed with Kantech EntraPass Corporate access control system software at no additional cost.  With the integration of access control and video into one system, they were able to improve response time to critical alarms and events. With exacqVision CameraLinks, school operators can quickly access the most needed commands from live view and further search video evidence associated with entry and exit points.

“The installation went absolutely seamlessly. We prewired extra IT points where cameras were going to be and when it came time to connect everything to the network, they were snapped in and up and working right away. It was a great experience.”

exacqVision 8.0 Release Introduces Suspect Tracking

exacqVision 8.0, the latest release of exacqVision video management system [VMS] software, is now available from Exacq.

Software Downloads

Watch this video to see the new features in exacqVision 8.0.

exacqVision 8.0 highlights:

Suspect Tracking

Suspect Tracking allows users to follow a person or object of interest through an entire scene faster. Users can configure CameraLinks, also seen as Associations in the client configuration, to set up a series of links between multiple camera views displayed by overlay boxes in live view. Each polygon can be customized by border and transparency and placed wherever you’d like in the range of view. By left double-clicking on the polygons in the live camera view, users can navigate through the scene following a person of interest.

Users can also dynamically build an export of suspect tracking in exacqVision search greatly simplifying finding video evidence. Start with the first camera of the scene and expand to additional cameras. Once all the cameras in the scene have been added, then bookmark the video and label for export.

Exacq Suspect Tracking

Under the Configuration page, navigate to the new Suspect Tracking tab. Click ‘New’ and draw the box on the camera view. Under ‘Area Configuration’ choose the camera and set the background and border.  A slider bar for opacity of the background and border can be set.

suspect-tracking-configuration

To configure suspect tracking faster on an enterprise system, select the ‘Generate from Map’ button. exacqVision will generate default links on the cameras based on  which camera is closest on the map.

Available for exacqVision Professional and Enterprise VMS software.

New CameraLinks

CameraLinks put the most needed controls at the user’s fingertips in live view.

  • Enable and disable digital PTZ mode from live view via the new CameraLink.
  • Access exacqReplay directly from live view within CameraLinks for an instant replay of video and audio events. View video in segments of  5 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes to 15 minutes.

exacqReplay CameraLink

Archive Bookmarks

Archive Bookmarks allows users to create a second copy of important video. Adding to the direct archive search introduced in exacqVision 7.8, archive bookmarks enhances video archiving to provide faster access to video and better manage bandwidth. Users closer to the archive location on the network can directly search video on the archive without routing data through the recorder.

Enable archive bookmarks on the archiving target location by selecting the “Archive All Bookmarks” checkbox on the Archiving Schedule page. This applies to all bookmarks created on the specific recorder and will not restrict by camera or day. Bookmarked video will not delete until the bookmark is removed from the recorder.

At-Most Rule on Archive

exacqVision users can enable a rule to define an expiration of maximum number of days of video to retain. The at-most rule applies to all video on the archive target and not defined per-camera.

On the Target tab, turn on the expiration configuration and select the number of days.

Inactivity Timeout

Operators can now configure exacqVision to timeout after a specific period of inactivity to conserve bandwidth. This new feature is configured per client. While the camera and client stay connected to the recorder, users can simply mouse over the client to resume viewing video.

exacqvision-8-0_inactivity-timeout

On the client configuration page, users can check the ‘enable’ box and specify the number of minutes to disconnect the live streams after.

View the Inactivity Timeout pop-up box to alert users the live streams will disconnect due to inactivity.

Stream Rate Control

exacqVision 8.0 introduces two new ways to configure camera stream bandwidth to the recorder. The existing constant quality setting is still available in addition to  the new constant bitrate and maximum bitrate settings. Set the stream to maintain quality or maintain bitrate to more consistently manage bandwidth and storage usage.

Constant Quality

  • Set the quality from 1-10 as in previous releases of exacqVision

Constant Bitrate

  • Set bitrate and the stream will adjust quality as needed

Maximum Bitrate

  • Set the quality from 1-100  and a maximum bitrate [Note the quality slider is a scale the same as the camera]
  • Stream maintains quality until it hits the maximum bitrate

Available for the following camera brands:

  • Illustra
  • Axis Communications
  • Arecont Vision
  • Hikvision

Camera Name and Serial Data Background

Users can now customize the text and background color for the camera name and serial data displayed in live mode to make the information easier to read in specific environments.

  • Font
  • Size
  • Effects color
  • Background Color
  • Background Opacity [0-100%]

exacqVision 7.8 Release Enables Direct Archive Search and Introduces Camera Connection Diagnostics

exacqVision 7.8, the latest release of exacqVision video management system (VMS) software, is now available from Exacq.

Software Downloads

Watch this video to see the exacqVision complete security solution and new features.

exacqVision 7.8 highlights:

Direct Archive Search

Direct Archive SearchexacqVision 7.8 enhances video archiving to provide faster access to video and better manage bandwidth. Users closer to the archive location on the network can directly search video on the archive without routing data through the recorder. Direct archive search is available for any exacqVision S-Series storage device and any third-party network share archive.

For customers that want to implement mobile video on vehicles such as trains, subways, and buses, exacqVision Edge+ VMS software on a camera can be used in combination with direct archive search to send video to the archive while at the station and view video from the archive while the vehicle is on duty.

Direct archive search can be enabled for exacqVision Professional and Enterprise users. To enable direct archive search, users can go to the Archiving page and select the enabled check box under the new Direct Search section and enter read-only username and password credentials that the client will use to access the network share.

Camera Connection Diagnostics

exacqVision will now provide guidance on all camera connections to resolve and troubleshoot camera connections faster. The new camera diagnostic information will reduce common technical support questions.

exacqVision_Camera_Diagnostics

Under IP Camera Information there is a new Troubleshooting Steps field that gives specific instructions to support connection scenarios for any camera manufacturer and model. Connection Diagnostics and descriptions include:

  • Different Subnet – IP of camera is on a different subnet and may not be reachable.
  • Duplicate IP – Device with the same IP address is already in the list
  • Wrong IP – Device of the same type was discovered at a different IP
  • Type Mismatch – Device of a different type discovered at the same IP
  • Bad Credentials – Camera is rejecting the username or password

Hard Disk Drive Serviceability

exacqVision will automatically run disk health checks for proactive notification when a NVR hard drive may fail.

HDD-Serviceability

On the Storage page under the Hardware tab, users can find the storage hardware disks. exacqVision will show a green check mark or red X indicating if the disk has failed or a HDD failure is impending.. Users can perform a self-test for a single disk or for all disks by clicking one of the two buttons: ‘start short test’ which typically takes seconds or ‘start long test’, which may take a few hours to complete. The status line under the properties section will display the drive failure and notify the user if a drive needs replaced. This feature is available exclusively on exacqVision network video recorders.

Bandwidth Control

exacqVision Professional and Enterprise users can configure bandwidth limitations to certain IP ranges and during specific hours to optimize traffic. Bandwidth can be customizable down to the Kbps or Mbps for greater control.

Bandwidth can be limited for:Bandwidth-Configuration

  • All Remote Client Access – affects all client traffic out of the recorder
  • WAN Client Access – affects all traffic on a different subnet
  • Defined IP Ranges – affects only the defined IP ranges

Bandwidth can be scheduled for specific days and start and end times. By default, it will be set to Everyday, All Day. For example, in retail applications, users may want to schedule WAN bandwidth restrictions around business hours so lines for credit cards can be used and during closed hours the bandwidth opens up.

MP4 Crop Export

exacqVision users can now export video files to MP4. Along with the new MP4 export feature, exacqVision provides users with the ability to crop the scene, add a subtitle and time stamp to any .EXE, .MOV or .MP4 video file. The ability to crop a scene gives users greater flexibility to meet privacy standards. In schools, administrators can crop the video event footage down to only include the necessary students involved instead of including the entire scene of students, which may violate privacy regulations.

exacqVision_mp4_export_cropping

Users can select the new scissors icon and draw a box around a specific area they would like to crop for the export, allowing them to focus on the necessary area of the event. The cropped image will add a black border with yellow text stating “cropped from original video” to the bottom of the exported file. Watermark authentication is also supported for .exe export.

Users can export files larger than 4GB. Files can still be exported as .exe, .avi and .mov in addition to the new .mp4 format.

Web Service Dashboard

The redesigned web service configuration page now displays performance and connectivity status in a new dashboard for convenient connection monitoring. The page now offers guidance and live status of server workloads and connected users. An easy to read, real-time graphic shows the current CPU and memory usage, the number of connected users and camera streams they are viewing. For further detail, the number of streams being transcoded is shown. The blue section indicates how much the web service is using and the dark gray shows how much the machine is using in total. Within a glance, users can see if the web service is encountering a high level of load. If there is a high number of users or high memory usage, it may be necessary to add hardware to improve performance.

exacqVision_WebConfigurationPage

Additionally, this page will provide guidance on connectivity:

  • Outbound Internet Connection -Confirms the web server can reach the Internet
  • Inbound Internet Connection – Confirms the Internet can reach the web server
  • Internet Address – Confirms the external IP or URL that users will enter into Exacq Mobile

Web-Service-Administration

Exacq Mobile Event List Search

Quickly find and review video associated with POS, access control and other events from your mobile app in a new list search format.

By clicking the search icon in the upper right hand corner of the app and selecting custom, a search details box will appear. Users can select the specific start/end time and up to 4 cameras to search on. Similar to the exacqVision client list search, Exacq Mobile allows users to view a thumbnail of each event and review events individually in a list. Double click or touch any of the results to view the timeline view of the specific event. Users can closely review events quickly to ensure nothing was missed in any of the scenes.

Enterprise System Manager (ESM) License Management

Administrators can now backup and store server licenses directly from ESM. The new functionality allows administrators to easily import, export and save a large number of server licenses and view license expiration dates. On the server details page, users can select the calendar icon to save configuration, change configuration, update software or import license file. This gives ESM administrators the ability to manage all licenses for recorders monitored on the system.
Note: This feature will be released within the coming weeks.

Illustra-fisheye-camera_PC-Wireless-SHopThe PC & Wireless Shop selected Tyco Security Products edge technology with Illustra IP cameras pre-installed with exacqVision Edge video management system (VMS) software installed directly on the IP camera. Each IP camera acts as its own server, recording video to an onboard SD card. Tyco’s edge recording solution eliminates the need for a server while saving bandwidth and expenses.

The Illustra Edge cameras fully cover the 5,000 square foot space in the shop including the sales floor, warehouse and backroom. The
new Illustra IP cameras drastically improved the image quality.

The onboard exacqVision VMS software gives the Shop owner and employees a full-featured, intuitive VMS software to quickly search video.

exacqVision 7.6, the latest release of exacqVision video management system (VMS) software, is now available from Exacq.

Software Downloads
Watch this video to see the exacqVision complete security solution and new features.

exacqVision 7.6 highlights:

Improved Client Video Performance

The exacqVision client will leverage hardware H.264 decoding if present to improve the Windows, Linux and Mac client performance. Hardware acceleration increases H.264 decoding performance. To enable client hardware acceleration, go to client options and click the Calibrate button. After running the calibration, you will receive a recommended level of GPU decoding, which you can adjust with the slider bar.

The amount of performance boost hardware decoding provides will vary by the GPU resources available on the machine. For a Broadwell i7 CPU, CPU usage decreased by up to 50% for 16 camera layouts and rendered frames per second increased by 30% for 48 camera layouts.

Area Zoom

In live view, users can utilize area zoom for pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. This allows a user to draw a box around a specific region to instantly optically zoom in to see greater detail on objects or people in the distance. Simply hold control and left click to draw the box around the area to zoom in on. This new feature is available for Axis and Illustra PTZ cameras used within exacqVision.

Second Reviewer

For European customers, exacqVision has added the ability to configure enhanced privacy restrictions requiring a second reviewer to view the live video or review recorded video. Add the option to require two people to enter passwords for live, search and export actions. By default this feature is disabled. To enable this feature, contact Technical Support for a special configuration key to import on the Systems page, security tab.

Mapping

Within the maps page, configure a new map, add an icon and map image. Right click the camera on the map and select the new option Show Field of View. Drag the field of view to cover the appropriate area. The new functionality also allows the field of view color to be updated to a preset list of more than 10 color options. Simply right click and select Field of View Color to change the color so it appears better on the screen. Drag and drop maps and child maps anywhere on the list.

Windows 10 Support

The exacqVision client and server now support Windows 10.

Faster Discovery & Camera Reconnection

The exacqVision client can now automatically discover exacqVision servers on the network. Instead of having to manually type in the IP address range and brute force scan through each address, the client will automatically scan when the client is opened. Clicking the Find button on the find systems tab will initiate a rescan to find new servers.

When a network outage occurs, exacqVision will reconnect to the camera. The IP reconnection interval has been updated to reconnect every 15 seconds for up to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, it will attempt to reconnect every 60 seconds for up to 1 hour. After 1 hour, it will go back to searching every 5 minutes. This reconnection is available for Illustra, Axis and Arecont Vision cameras.

Exacq Mobile Search

Exacq mobile_searchExacq Mobile has enhanced search functionality. Users can quickly select a pre-defined search range from 1 minute to 30 minutes or enter a custom time search to set your own time perimeters by clicking the search icon in the upper right hand corner. In the custom time search, users can easily select the hour and minutes from the clock icon. Select up to 4 cameras to view search results.
The new toolbar layout offers easier navigation for layouts, VideoPush, Cycling through cameras and searching. VideoPush allows you to push live video to any other client. The new Cycle Through Cameras icon takes you to the next two cameras on the list. To cycle through cameras, you can also do a two-finger swipe to the left or right to navigate to cameras.

Enterprise System Manager (ESM) Remote Updates

Administrators can now perform software updates. The improved available versions page provides ESM users with quick identification of the current versions of exacqVision clients, web services and ESM itself installed across the entire environment. The Available Versions page has been updated to the Running Versions page. It shows new headers for versions, product, platform name, count and actions. Receive notifications at the top when newer versions are available.
Enterprise-System-Manager_version
Users can update all exacqVision clients and web services connected to ESM directly from one interface. To schedule an update, click on the calendar icon at the top next to Web Services. Simply adjust servers to update in the servers to schedule drop down menu and then select the servers you would like updated. In the additional data, you can add notes. For ESM to update itself, there is a new light bulb icon in the footer. Clicking the light bulb will allow you to schedule a system update for ESM. Users will see a message informing them the system will be going down for an update.
