exacqVision Integrates with AMAG’s Access Control Security System

AMAGexacqVision is now certified with the latest version 8.0 of AMAG’s Symmetry access control system. The Symmetry integration allows exacqVision users to view live and recorded video from Exacq-managed cameras within Symmetry’s client software. Now, with version 8.0, users can enable and disable motion alarms for each camera. Together, exacqVision and Symmetry provide users a complete end-to-end system increasing situational awareness and visitor identification management.

Symmetry Enable

This integration allows exacqVision users to:

  • View live and recorded video from exacqVision VMS software within Symmetry GUI
  • Associate access control alarms to video
  • Displays exacqVision video with motion alarms
  • Control PTZ with preset position support

Symmetry Motion DetectionThis integration requires exacqVision version 6.6 or later with a current exacqVision Enterprise license using the evSymmetry v1.2.2 or later driver and is valid with Symmetry v8.0. Download the plug-in.

ESM Failover for exacqVision

The new Enterprise System Manager (ESM) Failover feature ensures the high availability of mission critical security video and data. ESM Failover helps avoid downtime by:

  • Continually monitoring exacqVision recorders for possible failures
  • Automatically moving functionality to “spare” servers in the rare event of a failure
  • Manual ESM Failover mode for maintenance of exacqVision recorders

Monitor

Restore recording functionality within minutes!

15 secondsHow fast is ESM Failover?
ESM failover is designed to detect a server failure within 15-30 seconds. This setting is configurable, so a long delay could be set to avoid failover during a reboot, for example. A manual failover mode also exists for performing tasks like system maintenance. In the event of an actual system failure, the spare recorder can be up and running within a matter of minutes.

Failover

What Fails Over?

  • Z-SeriesCameras
  • Recording Schedules
  • Users
  • Event Linking
  • Saved layouts, Views, Groups and Maps
  • Serial Profiles
  • Archiving configuration
  • Notification Rules
  • Auto Export Rules

Failover does not change the network identity of the protected recorder or spare in order to prevent duplicate IP addresses. Analog cameras and analog inputs are not part of ESM Failover due to wiring requirements of analog devices. Also note that the spare server storage doesn’t need to match the protected server, but should simply provide enough storage for anticipated downtime.

Failback
ESM will automatically failback to the protected recorder when available. The video from a failover remains on the spare server until manually moved back to the protected server.

Failover Requirements

Failover requires spare recorders, typically in the same family as the primary recorder, each with enough capacity to store video for the anticipated duration of the downtime. Failover also requires exacqVision camera licenses for the cameras being recorded. ESM Failover requires the Enterprise Server Option on an exacqVision server along with ESM running on a separate server.

EasyConnect Enhancements

The EasyConnect feature on the exacqVision VMS allows users to find, assign, address and connect certain IP cameras to their network automatically. EasyConnect enhancements in exacqVision 6.6 keeps the camera list fresh, guides administrators to the camera configuration page, and links to camera connection diagnostics to simplify the process even more.

New User Views Functionality

exacqVision 6.6 now allows users to create views based on user permission settings. This feature allows Administrators and Power Users to control the camera views for specific users. It also allows individuals to create personal views that cannot be used by any other exacqVision user.

User Views

Updated Event Monitoring

Event monitors automate client reactions to events (for example displaying a video of the front door when the front door is accessed). When used properly, event monitors convey situational awareness in busy environments to active users. exacqVision 6.6 provides increased flexibility and power to always display the most important video using the Event Monitor feature.

  • Use Event Monitoring to always keep YOUR most important live video in front of your users
  • Now with faster and easier set up of Event Monitoring rules
  • Apply new filters to the event list to find specific events
  • Drag any camera into Event Monitoring panel to see video
  • Higher ranked events fill in as they occur

Enterprise System Manager version 3.0

In addition to the failover feature discussed above, ESM can now be used to manage a single user across many exacqVision servers, keeping the user’s permissions in sync and resolving user permission conflicts. With ESM version 3.0, users can be assigned to groups for easy management of multiple users. Another new feature of ESM includes the ability to automate client configurations, importing systems into the client specified for each user.

Z-Series Hot SparesexacqVision Z-Series logo

The exacqVision Z-Series recorders are now available with hot spares, for automatic replacement of failed drives. This is accomplished by defining one or more drives as hot spares in the RAID array. If a drive should fail, that volume is automatically brought online to replace the failed drive. A drive installed after repair automatically becomes the new hot spare.

The updates to the server processor and the new operating system has also contributed to faster local client display rates and faster video search times.

Install Approved Applications Directly on Server
Z-Series servers now have the ability to host Certified Software Applications (CSA) directly on the server. This can also be achieved on A-Series servers with a CPU upgrade. CSA third party applications include license plate recognition software, video analytics, point-of-sale solutions and more.

Double A-Series Memory Capacity
The introduction of 64 bit version of Windows enables double the RAM capacity with A-Series servers as well as providing a more efficient operating system.
