Tyco Security Products Westford Intern Program

Our interns here at Tyco Security Products office in Westford, MA have been sharpening their skills over the course of the summer and helping advance initiatives.

Westford Interns

Meet our Interns

Liam Rucker — Notre Dame

Liam is working with the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) team to learn as much as he can about the EMC field. He is a mechanical engineering major at Notre Dame and a member of the boxing club team and the Notre Dame SAE formula one hybrid team.

“The team gave me free reign on a few projects that complement their work. At the end of each project, I have presented my findings and then received critique based on my solutions and presentation skills. I chose to intern for Tyco International because it is a unique opportunity for me to step outside of my major and comfort zone into a more technical field. Also, I appreciate the opportunity to work in a professional project oriented environment where I can test the practicality of my education thus far. I plan to graduate in 2018, and I want to get a feel for where I could fit in the engineering world.”

Lauren Fitzgibbons — Salem State University

Lauren is an International Business major and will be a senior this fall. She is also a part of the Women’s Ice Hockey team. This is her second internship here at Tyco. During her  first internship, she worked in the IT department.

“I learned a lot of valuable skills in my IT position and enjoyed interacting with many different people throughout the company. This summer, I have been working with Software Support Agreements (SSA) and maintaining databases. This is an area that I have not previously been involved with, and it’s given me the opportunity to learn even more about Tyco and its various product lines. I appreciate the opportunity to be involved in different challenges within the company, and I am looking forward to working here again.”
