IP-ACM Ethernet Door Module

Flexible, secure Ethernet edge device reduces wiring and extends cost effectiveness of an IP-based access control system.

IP ACM

IP-ACM is a flexible, future proof Ethernet door module that provides IT savvy customers with a highly secure option to manage their security, while reducing wiring and installation costs. The IP-ACM is installed near the doors that it’s controlling and communicates securely over IP to an iSTAR Ultra GCM using AES-256 encryption. The GCM contains the local access database and makes all access decisions. Each IP-ACM can support two doors, or one door with in and out readers. Each iSTAR Ultra supports up to 32 readers maximum.

Kantech EntraPass 7.0 Integrates With ASSA ABLOY Aperio Wireless Locks

EntraPass Security Management Software integrates with ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless lock technology giving you the flexibility to expand your access control system to almost every opening in your facility. These locks become part of the EntraPass security software ecosystem and can be managed from the EntraPass interface for a unified security management experience. This means that locks can be part of the events, reports, maps, and more that are core to the everyday security management with EntraPass software.

Assa Abloy

The access control decisions on these locks are made by the state-of-the-art and reliable Kantech KT-1-M and KT-400 controllers. The Aperio wireless locks on these controllers can be added without taking the current door ports away, meaning the wireless locks can be added to the controllers incrementally simply by purchasing the appropriate software license. The locks communicate wirelessly with the Aperio hub which is hard-wired to the Kantech controller. The wireless communication between the hub and the locks is protected with 128-bit AES encryption for the most secure communication. Online transactions mean that EntraPass is updated in real-time, providing a high level of control and visibility of door actions.

With no need for additional wiring, ASSA ABLOY Aperio locks can be installed or retrofitted at existing facilities with little or no operational disruption. The locks come in a variety of form factors that accommodate a wide range of interior environments including mortise, cylindrical, and exit devices for standard doors and an electronic cylinder that replaces a traditional mechanical keyed cylinder. Aperio technology is also available in a wireless cabinet lock format which can be used for cabinets, lockers, and drawers. This is ideal in healthcare facilities for storing equipment, drugs, patient files, and valuables. And, there’s even a model for server racks which greatly improves the monitoring and security level of data centers.

  • Real-time communication with Kantech KT-1-M and KT-400 door controllers using the ASSA ABLOY Aperio hub, and EntraPass security management software
  • Convenient and easy to integrate with new and existing EntraPass installations
  • Utilizes low-power IEEE 802.15.4 and secure 128-bit AES encrypted wireless communication between the Aperio lock and hub
  • Real-time reporting such as card access transactions, door status, low battery and tamper alarm monitoring
  • Locks built on a robust Grade 1 mechanical platform for durability

EntraPass’ integration with ASSA ABLOY Aperio Wireless Lock Technology provides customers an affordable way to bring the flexibility of wireless locks to any interior door in a facility including cabinets, drawers and server racks with little to no operational disruption. The Aperio locks become part of the EntraPass security management software eco-system and can be managed from the EntraPass interface for a unified security management experience. The access control decisions on these locks will continue to be made by the state-of-the-art and reliable Kantech controllers. The wireless locks are ideal in settings such as universities, pharmacies, hospitals, human resources departments, data centers and any other interior door where electronic access control was previously cost prohibitive.

In addition, Kantech joins the Connected Partner Program from Tyco Security Products allowing third-party integrations to be developed using the Kantech software development kit (SDK). This allows the partner technologies to interact with EntraPass and thereby obtaining pertinent information such as card holders and events directly from EntraPass.

“Flexibility and affordability with a world class user experience have been the cornerstones of Kantech solutions for many years and the focal points of EntraPass 7.0,” said Rajeev Dubey, Senior Product Manager for Kantech. “In addition to further enhanced user experience innovation, EntraPass offers our customers wireless lock integrations and the ability to integrate with a variety of third-party technologies, providing an integrated, comprehensive security solution to a variety of markets.”

EntraPass also introduces several incremental features in this software release, including the redundant gateway support for better fault tolerance capabilities. In addition, the EntraPass go mobile application has improved report options while the EntraPass web client offers more customization possibilities.

C•CURE 9000/SALTO Offline Lock Solution

The C•CURE 9000/SALTO Offline Lock Solution offers flexibility for any project where the cost of a high security, fully wired door is not justified.

Salto
The C•CURE 9000/SALTO Solution is ideal for areas where real-time security monitoring is not a priority, such as storage and office areas. Doors fitted with SALTO offline lock technology are integrated and managed within the existing C•CURE 9000 system.

The seamless C•CURE 9000 integration with SALTO offline locks supports bi-directional communication with the SALTO system using SHIP (SALTO Host Interface Protocol). With the SALTO offline lock solution no cabling is required to the actual lock installation. If required, door inputs can be wired separately to Software House online devices for real-time monitoring.

SALTO offline locks can be accessed by a card holder only after appropriate access permissions are written to the card by swiping a card at a control point reader. This will update and activate access to offline locks. The offline lock access permissions are managed on the central C•CURE 9000 system.

  • Offline transactions shared via cards are synchronized with the C•CURE 9000 server
  • SALTO online readers to update cards for offline reader access
  • Offline, wireless and wireless-ready locks supported
  • Flexible design can be fitted to almost any type of door
  • Ideal to replace a key management system
